Cartridge World, Colorado Springs, CO

Making a Positive Impact in Our Community

Cartridge World is a recycler of industrial plastics. Our primary mission is to promote sustainability through the use of "green" document imaging consumables.

Launched in April 2005, our recovery, processing, production and retail facility is located in the Briargate area of Colorado Springs. As part of our service to the community, we recover, refill, remanufacture, re-circulate and recycle empty ink and toner cartridges for printers, copiers and fax machines.

We currently maintain over 30 active cartridge collections programs. Through this effort, we have become fund raising partners with schools, non-profits, churches and ministries including the Urban League of the Pikes Peak Region and Catamount Institute.

In 2007 we removed over 23,000 lbs. of #10 industrial plastics from our waste stream. We have also contributed to the prevention of over one million pounds of carbon emissions from entering our atmosphere.

In the interest of promoting the responsible use of print consumables, we are actively engaged in community outreach and educational programs and

regularly attend environmentally themed events, conferences, trade shows and business and lifestyle expos.

We also partner with electronics recyclers to host and sponsor e-waste recycling events. Our educational outreach efforts extend to schools, area military bases and beyond.

We are proud members of the Pikes Peak Sustainable Business Network, Green Cities Coalition, Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Business Networking International (BNI). We are participants in the affairs of the Green Cities Coalition Earth Day Committee, Fort Carson Sustainability Project and UCCS Small Business Development Center.

Through these efforts, our business owner, Amy Scheller, has been named Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce/UCCS Small Business Development Center, 2008 Small Business Person of the Year and Fort Carson Sustainability Project 2008 Sustainability Champion.
